QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM

Quality means customer needs is to be satisfied. Failure to maintain an adequate quality standard can therefore be unsuccessful.

In the garment industry quality control is practiced right from the initial stage of sourcing raw materials to the stage of final finished garment. For textile and apparel industry product quality is calculated in terms of quality and standard of fibres, yarns, fabric construction, colour fastness, surface designs and the final finished garment products. However quality expectations for export are related to the type of customer segments and the retail outlets.

Quality control and standards are one of the most important aspects of the content of any job and therefore a major factor in training.

Objectives

  • To maximize the production of goods within the specified tolerances correctly the first time.
  • To achieve a satisfactory design of the fabric or garment in relation to the level of choice in design, styles, colours, suitability of components and fitness of product for the market.

Approach

  • Itemize the variables that occur in fabric and garment production in order to provide a complete specification.
  • Develop a specification in a number of parts or sections to ensure that all design and production staff has a clear idea as to what is needed.
  • Establish acceptable working tolerances in relation to all values on the specification.
  • Establish fault rate recording systems.
  • Improve technical understanding of the product including, Sewing problems.
  • Causes and prevention of seam breakdown.

Raw Materials

  • Fabric - Mill standard as per OEKOTE100/REACH
  • Zippers - YKK, TEX, IDEAL FANSTNER
  • Sweing Thread - COATS
  • Reflective Tapes - DM, STONOR etc.

Product Manual / pre production sample

The step-by-step procedure for controlling the quality of garments begins with the Product Manual with counter samples and before starting the production it must be approved with pre production samples from our customer. When a pre production sample is developed for a client, a detailed product manual is prepared. We send 2 samples in each article with the detailed product manual (measurements part and sketches), as we prefer to get 1 sample return with the approval (stamped and signed) from our customer.

Amongst other things it includes the detailed description of the garment measurements of various sizes, list of accessories, packing details, a sketch of garment with special emphasis on the critical & complicated parts, label designs / bar coding , prints / embroidery design if any etc.

Patterns – Gerber Auto-Cad System

We are using Gerber auto cad system for Patterns for all sizes, if the same has not been supplied by our clients. Most of our clients send to us the patterns by e-mail as .dxf and .rull. The Patterns in Gerber Auto Cad ensures accuracy in measurement and shape.

Fabric Testing

Stringent Fabric Testing for various parameters such as shrinkage, color fastness, color matching according to the customer’s requirements for each lot of fabric received is carefully conducted. In case the deviation is more than the tolerance, a prior approval is sought from client.

Accessories QC

For each of the accessories, we have defined our own quality parameters in details. The accessories are checked on these parameters before they are accepted in the warehouse.

Production Sample

Once we have the approval on our pre production samples and get it from our customers we make production samples for our each units for bulk production. The samples we send to our units for supervisor along with the detailed product manual.

Checking process - Line Checking, Finishing Checking, garments out from lock and before finishing, before we start the iron and packing, after packing and then we made the inspection before receive them in our store for dispatch.

Inspection of packing - Before the dispatches by sea or air we check each boxes the weight relating to the same size of each item are compared to ensure that the number of garments packed in each box is correct.
